afternoon reflections

$1,200.00

24x48 inch, oil paint and cold wax on stretched canvas

you’re out for a walk in a nearby nature preserve, and you go along the creek until you see a spot where you can get in close. you’re absorbed by the movement of water and the ripples on the surface and the reflections from the trees on the opposite bank. nice place to stop for a moment and just take it all in.

this creekside view comes from a visit to the Ches Len Preserve in West Bradford Township, PA. This is a branch of the Brandywine Creek. While at the spot I took a few photos to catch the light, and later realized that two photos connected, so I taped them together and did this painting from them.

unframed at this point, but painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas so the painting wraps around the sides and can be hung as it is.
